What Is the Orange Planet on Snapchat?
The orange planet on Snapchat is associated with Jupiter in the Snapchat Solar System. Snapchat+ uses eight planets to represent different positions in a friend’s Best Friends list, with Mercury at number one and Neptune at number eight.
The planet’s appearance helps you identify it, but color alone may not be enough to confirm its identity. We have explained how you recognize the orange planet, check your friendship ranking, and understand what its position means.
What Is the Orange Planet on Snapchat?
The orange planet on Snapchat is identified as Jupiter, the fifth planet in the Friend Solar System. This feature is part of Snapchat+, where planets represent your position in another person’s Best Friends list.
Your friend’s Bitmoji represents the Sun, while your Bitmoji appears as a planet in their solar system. The planet’s position indicates your ranking among the eight friends they interact with most on Snapchat.
Orange Planet vs. Saturn and Mars
Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars can be confused when their colors appear similar on a mobile screen. But their visual appearance helps distinguish them.
Jupiter: Usually appears orange or brown with visible bands across its surface.
Saturn: Recognizable by its rings and yellowish or golden appearance.
Mars: Commonly appears red or reddish-orange with a rocky surface.
Jupiter represents the fifth position, Saturn the sixth, and Mars the fourth in the Friend Solar System. Their positions are based on the planet order, not the intensity of their colors.
Is the Orange Planet a Sign of Being Best Friends?
The planet indicates that you are among someone’s eight Best Friends on Snapchat, provided it appears in their Friend Solar System. Jupiter represents the fifth position in that person’s list.
This does not necessarily mean that the person holds the same position in your list. Snapchat calculates each person’s Solar System separately, so your rankings may differ.
How to Find the Orange Planet on Snapchat
You can view your planet through a friend’s Friendship Profile if the Snapchat+ Friend Solar System feature is available and enabled in your account. The planet badge shows your position in that person’s solar system.
Open Your Friend’s Friendship Profile
Open Snapchat and go to the chat with the friend whose profile you want to view. Tap their Bitmoji or profile icon to open their Friendship Profile.
Look for the friendship badge displayed on the profile. Its appearance depends on your friendship status and the Snapchat+ features available.
Find the Best Friends Badge
Look for the Best Friends badge, which has a gold ring around it. Snapchat uses this badge to indicate that you and the other person are among each other’s eight closest friends.
A Friends badge indicates that the person is among your Best Friends, but you may not be among theirs. This distinction helps explain why the badge can differ between friendships.
Tap the Badge to View Your Planet
Tap the Best Friends or Friends badge to view your position in the Friend Solar System. Your Bitmoji will appear as a planet representing your place in that person’s list.
Check the planet’s appearance and position to identify it. If you see Jupiter, you’re in the fifth position in that friend’s Friend Solar System.
Why Does My Snapchat Planet Look Orange?
A planet may look orange because of its design, surface colors, lighting, or how it appears on your screen. Jupiter is commonly associated with orange and brown tones, but the color by itself does not confirm your friendship rank.
Use the planet’s recognizable features and the Friend Solar System order to identify it correctly.
Planet Colors and Friendmoji Designs
Snapchat uses distinct Friendmoji designs to represent the eight planets. Each planet has its own appearance, which helps distinguish one friendship position from another.
Jupiter features orange-brown bands, while Saturn has prominent rings and Mars has a reddish appearance. These visual differences help you recognize the planet shown in your badge.
How to Identify Your Actual Planet Position
The most reliable way to identify your planet is to open the friendship badge and examine the planet shown there. Match its appearance with the standard Snapchat planet order.
The order is Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Jupiter is fifth, so an identified Jupiter represents the fifth position in that friend’s solar system.
Does the Orange Planet Change Your Snapchat Ranking?
The orange color itself does not change your Snapchat ranking. Your position is represented by the planet assigned to you in a friend’s Friend Solar System.
If the orange planet is Jupiter, it represents the fifth position. Your position can change as your interactions with that friend change over time.
Why Your Planet Position Can Change
Your position may change as your Snapchat interactions change. If you and a friend begin exchanging more Snaps and Chats, your place in their Best Friends list may also change.
The planet represents your current position rather than a permanent friendship label. A different planet may appear when your ranking changes.
Does Orange Mean a Higher or Lower Rank?
Orange does not indicate a higher or lower rank by itself. The planet’s identity determines the position it represents.
If the orange planet is Jupiter, it indicates the fifth position. Mercury represents the highest position, while Neptune represents the eighth position in the Friend Solar System.
